Job Title: Renewable Energy & Power Systems Engineer (SE04) - 4647
The Biofuels and Renewable Energy Technology Department has a lengthy programmatic history in the areas Wind Power, Hydropower and Power Systems Integration, working for the Department of Energy, Department of Defense, other federal agencies, and industry customers. The INL is looking for an individual who will provide technical expertise and leadership in acquiring and executing technical programs with a focus on energy transmission, clean energy technologies and advanced energy generation and storage relating to wind power, hydropower, power systems and hybrids of these and other traditional power generation technologies. The successful candidate will also serve as a Relationship Manager with the DOE-EERE Wind & Hydropower Technologies Program. The candidate will be an integral part of the INL Wind Powering America and Hydropower teams.

Job Requirements:
Qualifications
MS + 9 years experience or Ph.D. + 7 years experience. PhD in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering. Experience shall include 10 years in designing or applying complex engineered/technical solutions for power generation systems, of which at least 3 years must be in the wind energy field, and 3 years in a project management/supervisory role. Review and internal/external letters required. Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q security clearance.
Demonstrated history of new business development in the areas of power systems and transmission, wind power and hydropower renewable energy. Experience with geothermal and solar renewable energy projects and systems would be a plus. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. Must have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with DOE-HQ customers, other national laboratories, universities and industry. Demonstrated history of hands on power engineering experience. Demonstrated success in program management of interdisciplinary R&D programs is desired. In a Relationship Manager role, the candidate must be acceptable to the DOE Wind & Hydropower Technologies program manager.
This position will include significant travel for business development purposes.
Must be a U.S. Citizen. Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q security clearance.
